- Put down your ego. Get outside your box.
- Pay attention! To your daily life experience. Take mental notes of words said during conversations, animals, song lyrics, numbers on the clocks, repeating themes and items you find yourself paused for a moment. Nothing is off the table and everything is in their playbook. It feels as if someone next to you just pointed and said, “Hey! Look at that football. See the words and numbers on the side? That's your birth year.” You will see it is a match as they really just pointed it out to you. Literally. You can’t make the trail happen, they do.
- Quick Google search. This is the treasure hunt of information when you find the next layer of significance of what they show you. Search the history, timelines, location of production, the names of the maker, the purpose of the object, patterns and colors in what you are seeing. Words will pop out coupled with a feeling. Pause then keep searching.
- Be patient! It can take one second or a few months before you fully understand the significance of the trail you are following. We are slow and miss the obvious which is why they continue to repeat. A true Medium helps fill in the blanks and take you to the next level.
ALWAYS IN SEASON. The breadcrumb trail is always available. Start trusting them, start trusting yourself. The best teams have reinforced trust. When we allow our people to assist and coach us we get out of our own way. We appreciate our struggle and lessons more, we heal wounds, and we get the boost that gets us through another hard painful day. Much like being a 49ER fan (Yes, that is my team), our loved ones stay faithfully at our side through the best and worst seasons. (I'm proud to say this is a good year for the Red and Gold).
